ERIK HARGROVE BIO

 

 

Musician ERIK HARGROVE Has Been Playing The Drums & Percussion In Various Styles Of Music For 41 Years.


As an International Musician, he’s most notably known for the 7 years he spent performing all over the world with The Late Great James Brown.
During those years with Mr. Brown Erik has performed and “shared” the stage with Michael Jackson, Sting, Slash, Lenny Kravitz, Pavarotti, Elton John, Victor Wooten, Maceo Parker, Fred Wesley, Thomas McClary and many more.


After the death of  Mr. Brown, Erik went on to perform with yet another Living Legend of Funk – Mr. Bootsy Collins

and his “A Tribute to James Brown” World Tour.

Erik then continued touring and recording with such artists as the Alternative Rock Band - Sister Hazel and Mr. Thomas McClary (The Founder, Guitarist, and Singer of The Commodores).

 

In 2013 Erik was sought out by Thailand’s Number #1 Drum Magazine “DrumNote” for an interview and to publish some of Erik’s drum set compositions. Erik is the 2nd foreigner ever to be on the cover of this magazine.

    •  Rejoined and toured with Bootsy Collins & His Rubber Band from September of  2013 through 2015

 

  • 2015 - Music Director, Drummer and Percussionist for Mr. Franco Dragone's Circus Theater Production in the Yunnan Province of China called “The Dai Show
     

  • 2018 - Performed with Mr. Nat Adderley Jr. (Luther Vandross Music Director, Producer and Co-Writer)


    •   2018 - Twice leading The Erik Hargrove Band  in concert supporting singer Ms. Sulene Fleming formerly of   The Brand New Heavies

 

  • 2019 - The Erik Hargrove Band opened for Mr. Al McKay and his Earth, Wind & Fire Experience
     

  • 2020 - Performed with Mr. Adam Hall’s “The Soul Review: The Songs of  James Brown” for The Fringe World Festival in Perth, Australia
     

  • 2022 - Borneo Jazz Festival
